The creation of this activity box came from conversations with the residents I work with, their carers & loved ones. What became clear is people are finding it more and more difficult to connect to one and other in such a fast paced world, but we seem to have forgotten the most beautiful moment of connection is a shared one.
This can be communicating with your nan with dementia, a client who is non verbal or a new resident with trust issues. Any role where you are trying to connect with a vulnerable elderly adult can be hard if you don’t know the right path, this box helps open up those lines of communication to find that path, to share that moment, to connect.

Leave a Review“We were so lucky enough to receive one of Tara’s beautiful Gentle Journey Boxes to use with our residents. It’s amazing- a grab and go experience all in one package! The packaging is beautiful and the experience is so inclusive - I have used its beautiful contents with all of our residents whether non-verbal, bed-bound or those living with dementia and they gained so much in their individual ways from using our senses to explore the scents, the fabric textures against their skin and the bright colours… I have journeyed with them using her story and prompts- and we have many times got lost down memory lane as a result. Our residents have really enjoyed the whole experience and the meaningful conversations we have had. I have found it works really great as a 1:1 as well as with a couple of residents who equally bounced off each other while remembering!
